Top Three

My dad is pleased as punch because his street made one of the top three places in town to see christmas if only the weather would clear up so I could take pictures. He is out there right now working on making it an even better display...

This of course after he ran outside to tell all the neighbors on 8:00 on a Saturday morning.

Friday, December 12, 2003 - California Latino groups urge boycott - Dec. 12, 2003

This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of in my life...except for those damn "Oppose-the-war-by-not-buying-gas-emails." I know I don't often talk politics in my blog...because frankly...I know that most people won't agree with me...but... I mean, come on people. What is wrong with this picture? Driver's licenses are NOT a god-given right...they are a priviledge. I see nothing wrong with appealing one of the stupidest pieces of legislation that Mr. Gray Davis passed before leaving office. The main argument for the the legistlature that I have heard is that without licensese they (illegal immigrants)can not work. Well...if you come into the country on a legal work visa- then you should be able to get a driver's license so that you can work. Simple as that. Just like to work I have to have a social security card and pay taxes. I do not like paying taxes...but I do it. You know those NIKE commericals "just do it?" I say "just do a legal alien worker"

That was the best episode of survivor yet.

The women finally banded together and kicked off that ass Burton. And he proved himself an ass with his closing comments...trying to make Lill feel guilty for voting him off.

I can't wait for "Johnny Rotten" to go next...

Happy Day

My Joe Diffie CD that I thought I lost at McCarran Airport was not in that cd was here at I can listen to John Deere Green and Pickup Man all the way home :)

Oh and on a blog note...I do know that the commenting system is messing up. It is their faul though...not mine. I have a work order in for them to fix it...but who knows when and if that will happen. I am getting your comments in my email and the number shows they are's that they don't actually show...which sucks an makes me mad.

Looking for a little wine?

picture by bEnTgUy snagged with permission from this post.

The above is a fountain that stands outside a winery outside of Paso Robles CA. Everytime I drive to Vegas or Bakersfield I pass this fountain as it is on the main artery I take between Western CA and Eastern CA.

I have come to LOVE this fountain. Sometimes the fountain has red wine flowing...sometimes white wine...once it had some pinkish color...but I wondered then if I was just diluted between the switch between the two colors....usually has red wine.

Why do I love it so much? Because of what it symbolizes to me....

On the way to Bakersfield or symbolizes that I am out of Monterey County...I am heading away from where I come from and heading towards a new also serves as visual verification for me that I am indeed heading in the correct direction (I have a horrible sense of direction and my grandfather taught me to use visual clues that you are going the right way). It serves to tell me that I need to turn auto-pilot off and start paying attention to where I am going...because people tend to pass on this highway...and pass unsafely (at high speeds and taking five and six cars at a time).

On the way home it symbolizes home. I am nearly there. Just a couple more hours. It welcomes me and pushes me on...letting me know that soon I will be back in my county...and then back in my town...and then home. It lets me know that I can relax now...because I am done driving on the evil highway where people drive like idiots (and pass like idiots). That soon I can take my pee break...and grab a bite to eat...and some gasoline if I need some.

I have been wanting to take a picture of this fountain...but the last couple of times I passed it it was not running or too dark to see if it was running. So...I thank bEnTgUy for the picture...

Malena from Average Joe did not choose Adam Mesh. Figures. Like BFM sends a message out there to men that no matter how successful you are...if you want the "good looking" have to be a "good looking" man. Not that Adam wasn't good looking...because I think he was fine looking...but he wasn't "pretty" (to quote Adam when he was talking to his friend in the apartment). Too bad because I really liked Adam...and I was rooting for him all along.

I think NBC should do an AVERAGE JANE show now...LOL.

For Fun

Yesterday...for fun...I drove around and purposely drove through piles of leaves in the streets just so I could watch the leaves dance across the street in my rearview mirror.
